Professional Development and Leadership Opportunities
Be a Committee Chair, Special Interest Group leader or Executive Committee member - Candidates for committees and other non-elected positions within the Academy/SIGs require Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy membership.
Participate in a member mentor program - We invite professional members to become mentors to support new professional and serve as a role model and members seeking mentors to contact those members they feel might provide a good mentoring match.
Present a poster or platform abstracts at the annual APTA Combined Sections Meeting
Become a Neurologic Clinical Specialty (NCS) and network with other NCSs - Clinical specialization requires knowledge, skill, and experience which exceeds that of the entry-level physical therapist.
"The Neurology Section has broadened my scope of practice. It has also been an excellent resource in terms of information and mentors. The Section has aided in and encouraged my development as a clinician, in participating in research and scholarly presentations as well as providing a welcoming place to grow as a leader."
