Volunteer with the Academy
Now that you are a part of the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy team, be involved as an active, contributing member!
The Academy prides itself on providing many leadership opportunities for you. By participating in various volunteer activities, you have the ability to not only share your education, training, and experience, but also to benefit by learning from and working with others! Here are some ways you can help:
Serve as a committee member or chair for one of the eleven Academy Committees: Advocacy & Consumer Affairs; Archives/Historian; Awards; Evidence-based Advisory; Finance; Membership & Public Relations; Nominating; Neurologic Clinical Specalist; Pactice; Program; Research; and Telecommunications. Join one of the Special Interest Groups (SIG) as a committe member or chair. Current SIGs include: Assistive Technology/Seating and Wheeled Mobility, Balance & Fallsl; Brain Injury; Degenerative Diseases; Spinal Cord Injury; Stroke; and Vestibular Rehabilitation. Volunteer as a Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy booth representative at the APTA Combined Section Meeting, APTA Annual Conference, or State Chapter Meetings. You can help to encourage other APTA members to join the Academy, provide current section members with information about resources and benefits, as well as network with other clinicians working in neurologic settings.
Take a moment to sign in as a member, go to the "Members" tab, click on the "Volunteer Sign-up form", and see what opportunities are currently needed. Complete the online form if you find something that you would like to help with. After completing this form, you will be contacted for Committee and SIG opportunities. In addition, your name will be added to our Volunteer Database to be contacted for future volunteer needs at conferences and meetings. All data collected is kept for the sole purpose of contacting current Academy members willing to serve in appointed and elected positions.
