I. SIG CHAIR OFFICER
1. Supervises the assignments and performance of the SIG officers.
2. Submits a committee report to the President prior to the Board of Directors retreat in fall (per Executive Director’s call for reports) of activities and objectives accomplished and strategic goals for the following year. Updates this report as needed in January prior to CSM.
3. Facilitates all meetings of the SIG.
4. Attends the leadership meeting at CSM or sends designee.
5. Attends the SIG meeting with the Vice President at CSM.
6. With support from the Telecommunications Chair, oversees maintenance of the SIG website, including currency of information, important updates and news, etc.
7. Appoints committees and delegates tasks as necessary.
8. Serves as a clinical resource to the Section on the specialty area.
9. Oversees consistent electronic outreach to SIG members, e.g., per newsletters, discussion board topics, etc. This outreach must be outlined in a yearly plan submitted to the Section Vice President.
10. With the support of the Executive Director, coordinates SIG officer communication/conference calls.
11. In October, will submit a yearly budget request to the Treasurer.
a. Funds approved for SIG activities may not be used for additional CSM travel reimbursement.
12. Provides for orientation of a successor.
II. EXPENSES
A. Special Interest Group Officers (Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Nominating Committee Chair) are reimbursed $500 toward meeting expenses per officer (maximum of 4 officers per SIG) given that the officers participate in planned SIG activities.
