Special Interest Groups

Elections

In 2025 the SIG Chair Elect, Vice Chair and Nominating Committee positions will be on the ballot.

The SIGs have six elected positions. Each serves a three year term with the chair, vice chair and secretary eligible to be elected for a second term. Learn more about the role and nominating yourself or someone else.

Members who are signed on the mailing lists of the SIGs also receive publications and information about programming specific to the SIGs. Only members of the Academy can join.

Special Interest Groups are a great way to either connect with others who are working with similar patient groups as you are, or to learn about hot topics in a less familiar practice area. Frequently there are electronic newsletters, podcasts, special topic discussions, and research updates. All of these services are designed to help you learn more about focused topics, network with others, and grow professionally through Academy involvement. Only members of the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy can join the ANPT Special Interest Groups (SIGs).

Special Interest Group Communications

As a member of a Special Interest Group (SIG), you will receive electronic newsletters and an invitation to participate in and gain knowledge from other communications and events. The newsletters provide a wealth of information on the accomplishments and future plans of the groups as well as hot issues that are now the topic of discussion. Each SIG also has a link on the ANPT website, www.neuropt.org , for more timely communication. Membership is free to all SIGs with a current ANPT membership.

The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) offers a consumer service called Find a PT. Find a PT allows you to search a national database of physical therapist members of the APTA for neurologic therapists.
