A Clinical Practice Guideline guides clinicians through a series of treatment decisions in an effort to improve quality and efficiency and reduce unwarranted variation of care by using the best available evidence and considering patient’s wants and needs.

The purpose of the Clinical Practice Guideline for the Physical Therapist Management of Parkinson Disease is to help improve the comprehensive physical therapist management of individuals with idiopathic Parkinson disease based on the current best evidence. Current evidence is strongest for interventions targeting people with early to mid-stage Parkinson disease. The Parkinson disease CPG identifies the outcomes that have been shown to improve in relation to a series of interventions and treatment approaches.
