by Amanda Kayser | Jun 21, 2020

The ANPT Evidence Based Documents Committee is looking to recruit ANPT members to serve as article/manuscript appraisers for the Clinical Practice Guidelines for Locomotor Recovery following Acute and Subacute Neurological Injury. A strong clinical or research background in locomotor rehabilitation or outcomes for individuals with subacute stroke, spinal cord injury, or brain injury is required. An aptitude for reviewing scientific publications is strongly encouraged. Those with exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and demonstration of previous collaborative work is helpful. From the applicant pool, the appraisers will be invited to join the guideline development group based on their diverse qualifications, backgrounds, and experience in a variety of professional settings. The time commitment for serving on these guideline development groups is 3-4 years.

Responsibilities of manuscript appraisers include disclosure of conflict of interest, participation in all conference calls, attending all meetings with a commitment to teamwork and clear communication, reading all relevant material and completing all necessary background work to fully participate, responding to e-mail communications in a timely fashion, completing all personal assignments to meet deadlines, and maintaining confidentiality. The primary assignments will include critical review of published research for potential inclusion in the CPG for subacute locomotor recovery.

If you are interested in serving as an appraiser, please submit a 1-page statement of interest that concisely summarizes your relevant professional experiences, background or any unique qualifications that should be considered. Please also submit a current CV combined with the statement of interest as one PDF or Word document to the Evidence Based Practice Committee EBDCommittee@gmail.com by July 14th, 2020 (with the file name formatted as follows: LastName_FirstName_CPGappraiser_letter).
