“When I was a student, I never saw myself practicing in research.  Now, 10 years into my career as a neurologic physical therapist, and nearly 6 years full-time in research, I have had the opportunity to travel and to work with industry partners, pharmaceutical companies, and other disciplines treating people with neurologic injuries and diseases in the United States and around the world.  You never know where Physical Therapy may take you!”

Casey is a research Physical Therapist at Shepherd Center in Atlanta, GA.  Her current roles include coordinating clinical trials for people with spinal cord injury/disease (SCI/D) or multiple sclerosis (MS), and completing research assessments for the Clinical Trials team.

She and the rest of the SCI special interest group work hard to provide SCI resources for SIG members, including clinician fact sheets, resources pages for clinicians and patients and their family members, and a SCI podcast, Discussions in Spinal Cord Injury Science (DiSCIS).  All can be found here: https://www.neuropt.org/special-interest-groups/spinal-cord-injury
