Rick advocates for participation with ANPT stating, “I think the ANPT has been a pioneer in knowledge translation from the research laboratories to the clinical practice settings that help PTs provide the most effective care to our patients. The ANPT has been great in providing easily accessible and useful evidence-based resources to its members.”

Rick is active within the ANPT as the Item Review Coordinator/Chair Elect for the Neurologic Specialty Council, Co-Chair of the PTA Advance Proficiency Task Force in Neurology, and Article Appraiser for the Balance Rehabilitation and Falls Prevention in Neurological Populations Clinical Practice Guideline.

He is also a part of 2 different board specialty councils of the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties:

  • Item Review Coordinator and Chair Elect of the Neurologic Specialty Council
  • Past Chair and Past Item Review Coordinator of the Geriatric Specialty Council

In 2016, Rick was recognized for his service with the Outstanding Service Award form the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT) for his work in the different exam development committees of the National Physical Therapy Examination. He is also serving in the different specialization and education committees of the Florida Physical Therapy Association.
