Tools to Search for Evidence

The research evidence in the field of neurologic physical therapy is constantly evolving. To find the latest evidence to assist you in making informed clinical decisions, utilze the sources listed below.

  • Access search engines and free online full-text research articles through Article Search: APTA's Portal to Evidence Based Practice.
  • To search the millions of citations listed on Medline, visit Pubmed at the U.S. National Library of Medicine.
  • PEDro, the Physiotherapy Evidence Database, provides access to bibliographic details and abstracts of randomised controlled trials, systematic reviews and evidence-based clinical practice guidelines in physiotherapy.
  • Search StrokEngine or Evidence-Based Review of Stroke Research for information on stroke rehabilitation and interventions.
  • Visit The Cochrane Collaboration for systematic reviews of the effects of healthcare interventions.
