Core Set of Outcome Measures for Adults with Neurologic Conditions

The Core Set of Outcome Measures Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) was developed in an effort to streamline assessments utilized for all patients with neurologic conditions. The guidelines establish the minimum measures needed to quantify the constructs of balance, walking speed, and walking endurance. These measures in their entirety should be done on all patients with neurologic diagnoses, across all settings (e.g. acute, inpatient, outpatient, home-health, skilled nursing). In addition, physical therapy students should be educated in administration and performance of these measures.

Core Outcome Measures CPG Knowledge Translation Taskforce

The Knowledge Translation Taskforce for the Core Outcome Measures CPG has convened in collaboration with the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy and the CPG Work Group. The goal of the Taskforce is to provide clinicians, administrators, educators, and students with tools to implement the core measures into practice.

The Taskforce has developed a set of standardized administration protocols for each recommended core measure in the CPG, with consideration of the most recent scientific evidence.  These protocols are now available for public review.  Please provide feedback to the Taskforce by January 26th, 2018.
