NEW Neurologic Residency/Fellowship Special Interest Group Forming!

by Andrea Miller | Nov 18, 2019

The ANPT Board has approved a new Special Interest Group (SIG)!

The ANPT Board of Directors received a formal petition to develop a new Residency and Fellowship Special Interest Group (RFSIG), with the required number of supporting Academy member signatures earlier this year. After significant review and discussion around the energetic support from the annual Residency/Fellowship Breakfast at CSM and recommendations from the Specialization, Residency, and Fellowship Committee, the Board is pleased to announce the approval of this new SIG. The ANPT Board will be appointing the initial set of SIG officers (Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, and two nominating committee members) in staggering terms so that future elections will match the current cycle for SIG officer elections. One nominating committee member will be elected in 2020. The RFSIG will assume all responsibilities for promoting current and developing Neurologic Physical Therapy Residencies and support of residents and residency faculty. The standing Specialization, Residency, and Fellowship Committee will now become the Specialization and Advanced Proficiency Committee and resume its focus on supporting and encouraging individuals who have achieved or are pursuing Neurologic Clinical Specialist certification, to increase the number of Board-certified specialists. Individuals interested in joining the new Neurologic Residency/Fellowship Special Interest Group (RFSIG) can use this link to sign up: http://www.neuropt.org/special-interest-groups/special-interest-groups-sign-up

Questions can be directed to ANPT Vice-President Dennis Fell at dfell@southalabama.edu, who serves as the Board liaison to all SIGs.
