JNPT Editor in Chief Opening

The Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy Board of Directors has begun the search for a new Editor in Chief (EIC) of The Journal of Neurologic Physical Therapy (JNPT). The selection committee is open to considering adjustments to the EIC’s scope of responsibilities including a shared role. The new EIC will shadow the current editor in chief for one year and take over responsibilties January 2021.

The JNPT is a Medline-indexed journal that currently ranks #5 in the JCR Impact Factor ranking of Rehabilitation journals. JNPT is a scholarly resource for dissemination of research-based evidence related to neurologic physical therapy intervention.  High standards of quality are maintained through a rigorous, double-blinded, peer-review process and adherence to standards recommended by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors.

Applicants should:

•       Understand the overall impact of a high-quality journal on the advancement of health care and improvement of patient care

•       Understand the impact of a high-quality journal on the advancement of rehabilitation and the physical therapy profession—including specific influences on knowledge base, evidence base, education, and clinical practice

•       Be a recognized thought leader

•       Demonstrate a commitment to furthering all areas of research—clinical, translational, health services, cost-effectiveness, and basic sciences

•       Place a high value on engaging an international readership and understands the growing importance of social media in scholarly publishing

Application Process:

Qualified individuals are asked to submit as an application a full curriculum vitae, a cover letter/letter of intent, and a letter from the individual’s institution indicating support for the application. Applications should be sent to info@neuropt.org and are due by 4/30/19.
